Teacher Bios

Mr. Sigal is a native of Westfield, NJ and was an active member of the Westfield High School Theatre Department, winning the Papermill Playhouse Rising Star Award for his performance as Tevya in Fiddler on the Roof. He went on to get his B.A. in Theatre Arts from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA currently ranked as the #6 College for Theatre in the nation by the Princeton Review. He went on to pursue his M.F.A. in Acting at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. Mr. Sigal has an substantial professional resume, having performed at renowned theaters across the country, including The Papermill Playhouse (Milburn, NJ,) The New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, the Pittsburgh Public Theatre, the Napa Valley Shakespeare Festival, Silicon Valley Shakespeare, the Free Associates Theater Co. (Chicago, IL,) and locally he has been featured in productions at the Majestic Repertory Theater and the Las Vegas Little Theater, where he has also directed several productions. Mr. Sigal also has an extensive teaching background, most notably having run the Theatre Program at The Old State House Museum in Little Rock, AR and serving as a Program Specialist (Education) with the Rainbow Company in Las Vegas. He is so grateful for the opportunity to lead the Theatre Department at Desert Oasis, and is incredibly appreciative of the support he receives from the D.O. Administration, Parents, Staff, and especially students.
Mr.Sigal

Mr. Homan is a Ely, Nevada native. Mr. Homan joined his High School Theatre Program late into his freshman year. Through his devotion to the program became the first Sophomore in school history to become the Tech Manager for the Club. Mr. Homan went on to attend Southern Utah University before moving to Carson City where Mr. Homan volunteered and worked at the Community Theatre on several high caliber musicals such as My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins, Chicago, and several others. After this tie Mr. Homan took a small break from the theatre world to get married and settled down. Soon after Mr. Homan went back to College in order to finish his degree at Brigham Young University- Idaho where he got his Bachelor's Degree in Technical/ Design Theatre, during this time Mr. Homan designed the lights for several productions at the University. Mr. Homan is continuing this education beginning in January 2025 by pursuing a Master's Degree in Lighting Design at Randolph College. Mr. Homan has also worked at White Pine County School district at both the Elementary and High School level, before coming to Las Vegas Nevada to work at Desert Oasis High School. Mr. Homan is incredibly excited to work with these students and to help them on their path for the future.
